On Thursday, October 28, representatives from Chesconet attended Tech360, a premier innovative business technology conference held at Penn State Great Valley in Malvern, PA. Tech360 is presented annually by the Chester County Economic Development Council, i2n (Ideas and Innovation Network), and iTAG (Innovative Technology Action Group).
This year’s theme was The Societal Impacts of Technology. Our representatives attended sessions presented by SEI, SageNet Inc., CompassRed Data Labs, CHOP, and Wawa.
Chesconet was a sponsor of the conference. At our table display, we networked with local education, financial, and healthcare companies who learned about Chesconet’s nonprofit Internet option in the region. Adding their company location to our fiber map, organizations such as Sigma Data Systems, Inc. engaged with our network engineers and talked about current issues facing technology professionals.
A highlight of the day was a presentation by Morris Risk Management, Mullen Coughlin LLC, OceanFirst Bank, and Berkley Cyber Risk Solutions. Takeaways from this session include keeping your data encrypted and very hard to access, ensuring your organization has a pre-breach analysis and plan, and understanding that cybersecurity starts at your mobile device. The field continues to emphasize that e ducation and awareness are key to successful cybersecurity.
