Chesconet remains fully operational during the COVID-19 mandatory lockdown. We have continuous automatic monitoring of all Chesconet nodes, switches, routers, and other equipment so Chesconet engineers are immediately alerted if there is a problem with any equipment. Those alerts continue to function regardless of where people are physically working. In the event that something should fail, our engineers will be able to do most of the troubleshooting remotely. If we do need to visit a Chesconet site to fix a problem, our engineers are identified as essential staff, so they are able to travel to Chesconet sites when necessary. We also have multiple paths and built-in redundancy to ensure that if we cannot reach an area immediately, Chesconet services will continue to function.
Additionally, our on-call rotation continues to function and members will continue to receive emails indicating the person who is on-call and the status of all Chesconet services.
